You might have heard about NSDL and UTI multiple times while getting a new PAN card or modifying the old one. But, most of the people have no idea what are NSD and UTI or don’t know the difference between NSDL and UTI. If you’re among the same people, this article is for you.
NSDL – National Securities Depository Limited
Estabished in 1996, NSDL or the National Securities Depository Limited is a capital market company. The company is located in Mumbai. This company is basicaly responsible for allotting and delivering PAN cards to Indian citizens. For getting a new PAN card through NSDL, you’ll just have to full up a short PAN card application form.
Later, the PAN card is allotted to you by the company in a span of 7-10 days. It gets delivered in 15-20 days after you’ve filled up the form. NSDL supports creating a new PAN card, correcting or modifying the old one and even delivering the PAN card to the respective addresses.
Whie filling up the online PAN card application form, you’ll have to make a payment of Rs106. You’ll be charged the same while filling the PAN card correction form and the re-issue form.
UTI Infrastructure Technology and Services Limited
Established in 1993, UTI Infrastructure Technology and Services Limited is a financial Service provider. It is the infact the largest financial service provider in India.
UTI, just like the NSD, is responsible for allotting, modifying and creating a new PAN or Permanent Account Number. The time span taken for the tasks is the same as in NSDL.
If you want to Apply online for a PAN card through UTI, you can go to its official website and fill the Online PAN card Application Form. Once you’ve filled, you’ll have to wait for 7-10 days for the allotment of the PAN card and 15-20 days for getting the PAN card delivered.
The charges are the same as NSDL i.e. Rs106. It is applicable for both, new PAN card application form and PAN card correction form.
UTI and NSDL do not really have differences. Both perform the exact same tasks and are responsible for the same. Even the charges and time duration are the same. Both the companies will charge Rs106 while filling up the online PAN card application form and will deliver and allot the PAN card Status in the same time duration. You can go for either of the two websites in order to fill up the form and get your new PAN card.
While filling the form, make sure all the details you fill are correct. But, even if you fill up the wrong details by mistake, you won’t have to worry. You can still fill up the correction form PAN card and get your details corrected or modified. Procedure for both, creating a new PAN card and getting it modified, is really easy.
