How Permanent Account Number (PAN) is Made!

PAN card or a Permanent Account Number is a must if you’re 18 or above and are making huge transactions or are running a business. This serves as a unique identity proof. It, these days, is required on most of the sites while making payments. A lot of websites require a PAN code while registering or making transactions in order to prove your identity.

PAN Card Status

As hard as it seems, the procedure of making a permanent account number isn’t a daunting task at all. You can either go with the offline method or just fill an online PAN card application form. Filling the form will require you to enter your basic mandatory details. You can fill the PAN card online form either through UTI or from NSDL. Both the sites have a similar procedure and will charge you the same amount.

You’ll be charged Rs106 for a new PAN card or modifying an old one. After filling the form, the PAN card gets allotted in 7-10 days and gets delivered in 15-20 days. You can check PAN card status online through either of the sites. To track PAN card status online, you’ll need to visit the official website of either of the sites and just click on the “track online” option in order to track it. You’ll be required to enter some details such as the applicant number, name, DOB etc. in order to get the status of the PAN card.

How to Make a New PAN Card?

The very first thing that you’ll need to do in order to make a new PAN card is to go to either NSDL’s official website or the official website of UTI. After logging on to the website, search for an online application form on the website and fill up the form. Before you fill up the form, make sure you have a few things handy. The things that you must keep handy are identity proof, Address proof, 2 recent passport size color photographs, and Date of Birth. If you’re someone who wants to re-issue a PAN card due to the previous one getting damaged or lost, you’ll need a photocopy of the old one handy.

After opening the website, click on the left of the window on “apply as an Indian citizen” option. Now, a new window will open with a long application form. Now, there will be an array of details that you’ll be required to fill such as name, address, details about your salary, office and home mobile number, aadhar card details and other mandatory details.

Now, after filling up all the details, click on “submit”. If you want to fill the form again from scratch, click on “reset”. After you’ve clicked on “submit” and done with uploading photographs and other documents, your PAN card application form will be successfully filled. Now, wait for the allotment and delivery. You can check the status of PAN card through the website. Now, wait for a couple of weeks or more and your PAN card will be delivered.
